Cage Cleaning Rate: $35/hour

Look no further—Meika's Bird House offers high-quality bird sitting at reasonable rates. We are committed to providing a clean environment, proper nutrition, and plenty of opportunities for socializing while you are gone, so your feathered friend is comfortable for their entire stay!

Types of Bird Sitting

• Birdie Daycare – Daytime companionship while you're at work

• Bird Sitting – Daytime and overnight care for shorter periods

• Bird Boarding – Daytime and overnight care for extended periods

We accommodate birds of all sizes—from finches to large macaws.

We can also care for other small animals, including:

• Rodents, reptiles, amphibians and arachnids

What's Included

Cage / Enclosure

• Outfitted with perches, toys, and access to bird baths

• Steam cleaned before and after each visit

• Covered at night unless otherwise requested

Food

We provide a balanced, nutritious diet:

• Pellets of your choice:
  Tropican, Harrison’s, Zupreem, Roudybush, LeFeber’s.

• Fresh fruits and vegetables (including from our organic summer garden)

• Homemade birdie baking: Muffins and breads made specifically for our birds

• Other foods:
  Scrambled eggs, plain oatmeal, brown rice or pasta

• Homemade parrot pudding:
  Mashed pumpkin, unsweetened applesauce, corn flour, organic cinnamon

• Seed, nut, dried fruit, and veggie mixes:
  Often Goldenfeast blends of gourmet bird foods

• Clean water, refreshed daily

Note: If your bird requires a special diet not listed, please bring enough for their entire stay.

Exercise, Love & Interaction

We love to interact with all the birds who come to stay with us. We believe that birds should be out of their enclosures as much as possible! Every bird gets to come out and stretch its wings at certain times of the day.

Please let us know if you’d prefer your bird not participate in certain activities:

• Out-of-cage time

• Aviary time

• Shower sessions

What to Bring

Required

• Your bird in its carrier

• Your carrier stays with us in case of emergency evacuation.

For sanitary reasons, we cannot store dirty carriers.

Optional

• Favorite toy or sleep tent

• Fresh fruits or vegetables that may spoil during your trip (we’ll feed them to your bird!)

• A write-up of your bird’s habits and favorite foods or treats

Drop off and pick up

• Birds may be dropped off or picked up anytime during store hours.

• Please call or text the day before to confirm your drop off / pick up.

• After hours Pick Ups and Drop Offs can be arranged for an additional charge.

DNA Sexing Fee: $35

Cage Cleaning Services: $25/hour.
